Help to Support
The Hernando Historical Museum Association
The Hernando Historical Museum Association is a non-profit 501(c) 3 all-volunteer organization. We operate three museums on the city of Brooksville: The May-Stringer House Museum, The 1885 Train Depot Museum and the Countryman Family One Room Schoolhouse Museum.
The May-Stringer was acquired by the Association in 1980. It was run down and in need of major repairs. Through the effort of our volunteers and cash donations it was fully restored and opened to the public. The 1885 Train Depot was also acquired and restored by the Association.
The mission of the Association is to preserve the heritage of Hernando County by collecting and displaying historical artifacts. We provide an authentic interactive experience through docent led tours. We are able to do this with some poplar Community Festivals such as:
THE BROOKSVILLE RAID
THE HERITAGE DAY FESTIVAL
THE HAUNTED HOUSE FALL FESTIVAL
THE MAY-STRINGER HOUSE NIGHT OF LIGHTS TOUR
Business can give an annual business contribution of $100.00 or Business can contribute time, money materials and ideas to the museum. Businesses are a vital part of the museum community and we appreciate and thank them for their help.
We will publicize your business and recommend our members to support your local businesses in our quarterly newsletter and on our website.
